Healthy Bodies, Happy Souls

Fueling bodies healthfully and filling souls happily is our what and our why. And, if you know us, then you know this is our mission. And, if you know this is our mission, then it’s likely meaningful to you, too.

But what you might not know is why our mission is so meaningful to us as people, not just as business owners. You see, in part, what inspired our purpose was necessity.

Hi, I’m LAUREN SHINN,
Founder and Co-Owner of Aloha!

We’re all about clean, plant-based foods that make people feel good from the inside out because I wanted to start feeling better from the inside out.

As a wife and mother of four young girls, who was working as a medical sales representative, I wasn’t prioritizing my health and wellness. Honestly, it was in the back seat (third row, next to the double stroller, in fact!).

But when a health scare brought my wellness routine into focus, I started looking for cold-pressed juices in wellness cafés, but could rarely find fresh, organic and gluten-free options—particularly while on-the-go.

And, not only did I want better options from trusted food providers for myself, but for my clients as well. Afterall, feeding them was a big part of my sales position. It was at that point that providing my family and clients with clean, healthy foods grew into a passion.

So, as I was treating my symptoms related to Lyme, celiac and graves, I discovered that gluten-free foods— without seed oils— and a big glass of cold-pressed fruits and veggies kept me feeling good for they helped reduce inflammation and strengthened my immune system. And, it was this revelation, paired with my passion for clean healthy foods, that ultimately inspired me to open my own wellness café.

Now, friends who shared a similar journey of nutrition discovery, had opened an/the first Aloha Smoothie Company in Cape May, NJ, which we decided aligned with our vision and was a perfect fit to bring to Ambler, PA, with an expanded menu that featured fresh, cold-pressed juices (made on-site).

So, together with my husband Edmond, who supported my vision throughout, we opened our Ambler Aloha in May of 2020… in the midst of Covid. Yes, it was risky and, at times, terrifying, but the Ambler community was clearly ready for this new café concept that prioritized health and wellness, and they welcomed us with open arms!

It’s meaningful to me, my co-owner Samantha Stern, and our Aloha family to be the café where people trust the ingredients— knowing they are locally-sourced in small batches from independent, principled businesses.

Again, we’re all about making clean, colorful, plant-based foods that make people feel good from the inside out. Serving our community, friends, and family is a privilege we take to heart.”

Hi, I’m SAM STERN,
Co-Owner of Aloha!

When my husband Steve and I moved to ambler with our dog Tally in 2018, I immediately fell in love with the community and its many local businesses. Not long thereafter, I joined the squad at Aloha and fell so in love with its mission and role in the community that I became a co-owner in 2023. Watching customers begin and maintain their own personal wellness journeys has been so empowering and inspiring. Truly, serving family and friends organic, healthy meals in the happy environment that is our wellness café is one of my greatest joys.”

The Aloha Juice Squad!

“Affectionately referred to around the café as “the squad,” our team members each contribute to making the energy that Aloha radiates so special. As owners and operators, we recognize and appreciate what a gift it is to work with bright, strong, likeminded people who are just as mindful and who share in our wellness café mission, passion and goals. Our customers know we have the best crew in town!”
